hey xanga team!

i hope yr septemberfests are going well.

yall indulge me here.  last december i did one of those pretentious 'top 20 albums of the year' lists that no one really cares about but serves for a great deal of self importance, and i was just looking at it and thought i would update my top ten from last year.  so here were my twenty favorite from last year:

20. Starflyer 59 - Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice
19. John Davis - Self Titled
18. Norma Jean - O God, the Aftermath
17. Starflyer 59 - The Last Laurel EP
16. Why? - Elephant Eyelash
15. The Lonely Hearts - Love and Politics EP
14. Iron and Wine - Woman King
13. Death Cab for Cutie - Plans
12. As Cities Burn - Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest
11. Sufjan Stevens - Illinoise
10. Kings of Leon - Aha Shake Heartbreak
 9. Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
 8. Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary
 7. Saxon Shore - The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore
 6. M. Ward - Transistor Radio
 5. Spoon - Gimme Fiction
 4. 89 Cubs - There Are Giants in the Earth
 3. Sweeny/Billy - Superwolf
 2. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm/Silent Alarm Remixed
 1. Denison Witmer - Are You A Dreamer?

ok, now here are, after several months to see what i still listened to a lot, my top ten albums of 2005:

10. Spoon - Gimme Fiction
9. As Cities Burn - Son I Loved You at Yr Darkest
8. Sweeny/Billy - Superwolf
7. Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary
6. Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy
5. Colour Revolt - EP
4. Why? - Elephant Eyelash
3. Saxon Shore - The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore
2. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm/Silent Alarm Remixed
1. Denison Witmer - Are You A Dreamer?

i still like those Bright Eyes, M. Ward and 89 Cubs albums, but i don't really listen to them as much as this other stuff.

I'm going to see Sufjan Stevens tomorrow.  I'll tell him you said hi.
